A brother and sister are in the Wayne County Jail today pending a first appearance in court Monday on arson charges.
Stephen Leon Williams, 33, 1227 N. John St., and his sister, Laketta Shawntell Williams, 25, 602 W. Mulberry St., are allegedly responsible for at least some of the suspicious fires set throughout Goldsboro over the last several months, according to a Goldsboro police report.
GPD fire investigators, working with agents from the N.C. State Bureau of Investigation, identified the suspects through what the report calls "an ongoing investigation."
Williams, charged with five counts of second-degree arson and a single count each of burning personal property and burning other buildings, is being held under a $60,000 secured bond.
His sister's bond has been set at $80,000. Her charges include one count of first-degree arson, two counts of second-degree arson and one count of burning personal property.
Additional charges are forthcoming.
