Investigators are working to determine whether several suspicious fires this weekend are related.

At least two were confirmed to have been "set" fires.

The Goldsboro Fire Department put out a dumpster fire at 1808 William St. Sunday at 10:30 p.m. That fire is under investigation by the Goldsboro Police Department, along with three others.

Sgt. Jeremy Sutton said some of the fires might be related, but they are not likely all connected. It is just too early to tell.

"We're looking into it," Sutton said.

An early morning house fire caused $25,000 in damage at 206 Vine St. Saturday. The fire was reported at 4:06 a.m.

At least six people were in the residence.

GFD Engines 1, 3, and 4 and Ladder 1 responded and fought the fire. A preliminary investigation deemed the fire suspicious.

The following morning, at 611 E. Spruce St., a fire broke out at about 5:30 a.m. The total value of the damage to that residence was not listed on the report.

And finally, a storage building at 1110 Clingman St. caught fire at 3:40 a.m. Sunday.

Both the Spruce Street and Clingman Street police reports state the fires were intentionally set.

The storage building that burned was valued at $1,000 and contained $400 in food items.

The fire and police departments are working together to investigate each of the fires.
