A Goldsboro man received only scratches to his inner right calf after being shot at early Thursday.
Freddie Antonio Tann, 37, of Rudolph Street, stopped a Goldsboro police officer en route to a shots fired call in 1400 block of East Maple Street at 4:45 a.m.
Tann told the officer he thought he had been shot.
According to the police report, Tann said a man known as "Tick" came out from behind his house, fired three shots at the ground then took off in a blue Toyota Corolla.
Tann refused medical attention, but the officer called for an ambulance anyway, the report said.
Wayne County EMS 61 responded and inspected the wound, determining it did not require any treatment.
