Optimist Kids Fun Day Saturday

Wayne County Public School students Saturday can celebrate the end of the school year when the Optimist Club of Goldsboro hosts its second annual Optimist Kids Fun Day event.
It will be held at Cornerstone Commons at the corner of Center and Chestnut streets. All children attending the event must be accompanied by at least one parent or other responsible adult.
The main purpose of this event is to provide children with their first fun-filled day in celebration of graduating to the next level in their school career and to help them start their summer vacation on a positive note, club members said.
The event will host many activities and special entertainment for the children.
In addition, there will be a free "Food Court" for everyone in attendance. Items on the menu include will popcorn, doughnuts, cookies, pickles, hot dogs, pizza, ice cream, Coca-Cola, Pepsi Cola, and bottled water.
Event sponsors include Caterpillar of Clayton, Goldsboro Fire Department, Coca-Cola Bottling Co. Consolidated, Culligan Bottled Water, Downtown Goldsboro Development Corporation, Franklin Baking Co., Krispy Kreme Doughnut Co., Little Caesars Pizza, Mt. Olive Pickle Co., Optimist Club of Goldsboro, Pepsi Bottling Ventures, PET Dairy, Pizza Inn, Ram Rent-All, and Sam's Club.
The rain date will be June 21.
