One-stop voting in advance of Tuesday's primary totaled 1,893 votes -- 321 at First Congregational Church at Dudley and 1,572 at the Wayne County Board of Elections office in Goldsboro.

The polls for Tuesday's primary will open at 6:30 a.m. and close at 7:30 p.m. for a short ballot heavy on national, and to a lesser degree, state races, but offering no county-level contests.

Goldsboro's Parks and Recreation bond referendum will also be on the ballot.

There were not enough local filings to create primaries in the handful of Wayne County offices up for election in the Nov. 4 general election. And even then most of them do not face opposition in November.

On the state level, only District 5 Sen. Don Davis, D-Greene, has a primary challenge, facing Tony Moore of Winterville and Henry Williams II of Greenville.

The winner does not have Republican opposition in November.

Also of local interest is the city of Goldsboro's $18.9 million parks and recreational bond referendum.

Other contests on the primary ballot are:

* U.S. Senate (Republican): Thom Tillis of Cornelius; Jim Snyder of Lexington; Edward Kryn of Clayton; Mark Harris of Raleigh; Heather Grant of Wilkesboro; Alex Lee Bradshaw of Icard; Greg Brannon of Raleigh; and Ted Alexander of Shelby

* U.S. Senate (Democrat): Kay Hagan (incumbent) of Greensboro; Will Stewart of Hampstead; and Ernest T. Reeves of Greenville

* U.S. Senate (Libertarian): Sean Haugh of Durham and Tim D"Annunzio of Raeford

* U.S. House District 1 (Republican): Brent Shypulefski of Rocky Mount and Arthur Rich of Garland

* U.S. House District 1 (Democrat): G.K. Butterfield (incumbent) of Wilson and Dan Whittacre of Henderson

* Supreme Court Associate Justice: Robin Hudson (incumbent) of Raleigh; Eric Levinson of Charlotte; and Jeanette Doran of Raleigh.
