Battle against heroin lands another in jail

The Goldsboro/Wayne County Interagency Drug Task Force is continuing its crackdown on heroin distribution in and around Wayne County.
As a result of a search warrant executed on a residence in Goldsboro Wednesday, the task force has made an arrest.
Damon Daniel Uzzardo, 34, 413 W, Grantham St., is charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Uzzardo is currently being held in the Wayne County Jail under a $6,000 secured bond.
The task force, working with the N.C. State Bureau of Investigation and the Drug Enforcement Agency, is conducting an ongoing investigation into the manufacture, sale and distribution of heroin in the county.
Additional arrests are expected.
