Police: No new leads in shooting

Goldsboro police have no new leads in the shooting of a 51-year-old woman at The Reserve at Bradbury Place Saturday afternoon.
The suspect remains unidentified.
Lori Ruth Pate is recovering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen after a black man in gray clothing allegedly shot her during a failed robbery.
The only description given to police was that the shooter wore a gray hooded sweatshirt and hat.
No weapon was recovered and rainy conditions made it a difficult scene to process, police said.
According to the report, the suspect approached Ms. Pate as she got out of her vehicle in front of her apartment building at Bradbury Place, located at 524 W. New Hope Road.
The man shot Ms. Pate after she refused to surrender her purse.
Detectives and a K-9 unit searched the area but found no one.
Investigators plan to interview Ms. Pate again today, an official said.
