Raid nets weapons, money, heroin

The Goldsboro/Wayne County Drug Squad seized money, guns and drugs as it broke up a heroin operation based out of Pikeville Thursday, according to a press release issued by the Wayne County Sheriff's Office.
Stacey Renard Pittman, 43, and Kenneth Sauls, 61, are both in custody.
The drug squad, assisted by the State Bureau of Investigation and the Drug Enforcement Agency, executed a search warrant at 121 Purple Iris Drive, leading to the two arrests.
Agents seized $6,000 worth of heroin, more than $26,420 in cash, 15 guns and a motor vehicle, the press release said.
Pittman is charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver heroin and has been placed in the Wayne County Jail under a $5,000 secured bond.
Sauls faces multiple charges, including possession with intent to sell and deliver heroin, sale and delivery of heroin and maintaining a dwelling for the sale of a controlled substance. His bond is set at $6,500 secured.
The arrests are part of an ongoing investigation into the distribution of heroin in and around Goldsboro, the press release said.
Additional arrests are expected.
