A Goldsboro man is in custody on drug charges after an investigation involving local law enforcement and investigators from Seymour Johnson Air Force Base.
The Wayne County Sheriff's Office's Aggressive Crime Enforcement Team and the U.S. Air Force Office of Special Investigations (OSI), working in the area of East Ash Street, discovered D'Marco Torquez Lewis, 18, in possession of marijuana in the parking lot of Popeyes at 2601 E. Ash St. Thursday.
Lewis, of 1213 S. Andrews Ave., is charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He is free on a $10,000 unsecured bond.
The Wayne County Sheriff's Office often coordinates with OSI when investigating areas frequented by airmen, an official said.
No charges against anyone connected with the base have been reported in connection with Lewis' arrest.
