First responders remove a little girl from the scene of a four-car wreck at the intersection of Royall Avenue and Wayne Memorial Drive Wednesday afternoon.

A four-car accident on Royall Avenue just west of its intersection with Wayne Memorial Drive sent six people to Wayne Memorial Hospital at about 4 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.

Goldsboro police say LaToya Danyel Davis, 28, 1100 N. Jefferson Ave., was at fault and cited her for failure to reduce speed and careless and reckless driving.

Ms. Davis, traveling north on Herman Street, turned left onto Royall Avenue heading west and lost control of her vehicle, crossed into oncoming traffic and collided with two eastbound vehicles before striking a third vehicle head-on, according to a Goldsboro Police Department wreck report.

Ms. Davis and the driver of each of the other three vehicles, Garent Lamont Edwards, 39, Lakeisha Speight Davis, 31, and Adrian Jay Bywum, 32, were transported by Wayne County EMS to Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Two passengers also were injured.

As of press time, the extent of the injuries were unknown, however at least two of the drivers were placed on backboards.

An infant removed by EMS workers from one of the vehicles was not harmed.
