Wayne County Sheriff's Office deputies took more than $31,000 in marijuana off the streets and arrested two in separate operations Tuesday.
A pistol also was recovered.
Regent Yvon Joseph Joubert, 25, of Durham, is charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, as well as maintaining a vehicle for the sale of a controlled substance. He was caught with $17,000 worth of marijuana in the Hickory Hills area.
Joubert is free on an $8,000 secured bond.
Members of the Sheriff's Office's Aggressive Crime Enforcement Team caught up with Joubert at the intersection of Rouse and Brookwood streets.
A female suspect, Jennifer Lee Wade, 36, 502 Linen Lane, is also charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana -- six pounds, with a $14,000 street value -- as well as possession of drug paraphernalia in the form of packaging materials.
Ms. Wade's arrest came in the Wayne County area of Old Grantham Road, where the Goldsboro/Wayne County Drug Squad went to investigate reports of drug activity.
Her bond was set at $5,000 secured.
