The N.C. Pickle Festival is almost here, but first, the N.C. Pickle Princess Court has to be chosen.
Scheduled for March 29 at 6 p.m. in the Paramount Theatre, the 14th Annual 2014 N.C. Pickle Princess Pageant will choose 13 young women -- or men -- in 13 different categories and age groups to represent one of the largest pickle-themed parties in the nation.
Each category -- baby, mini, tiny, little, junior, teen, miss, ms., mrs., majestic, mini-majestic, people's choice and supreme miss -- vary depending upon age group and the number of required competitions.
Attendees should expect an evening of all ages competing in talent, best dressed, best model, most beautiful and photogenic categories in evening and sports wear.
Pageant winners will be honored guests at the 2014 N.C. Pickle Festival and other exciting events throughout the year. The Overall Majestic Winner will receive a $500 savings bond or a $1,000 savings bond, depending on the number of contestants. The Mini Majestic, for those under 18, will win a $200 or $400 savings bond.
Miss N.C. Pickle Festival will also be eligible as a contestant at the 2014 Miss N.C. State Scholarship Pageant.
All contestants will receive a crown pin, a gift certificate from Desiree Autrey's Academy of Performing Arts and, of course, plenty of pickles from the Mt. Olive Pickle Co.
