The Goldsboro Police Department captured three men and two women in a St. Patrick's Day home invasion gone awry.

Police arrested Navone Rashon Carter, 26, of Dudley, Christopher Dixon, 22, of Kinston, Victor Troy Exum, 46, of Goldsboro, Amy Leann Moore, 33, Irish Inn Room 210, and Shaquana McCutchen, 20, of Goldsboro.

Each suspect is charged with conspiracy to commit robbery, robbery with a dangerous weapon, breaking and entering, first-degree kidnapping, larceny of a firearm and possession of stolen property.

Police responded to the 1700 block of Harrell Street at about 2:15 p.m. Monday, after reports of an armed suspect in the area.

The officers encountered several masked suspects, according to a Goldsboro police press release.

The suspects allegedly broke into a residence where a 17-year-old male was home. He was held against his will as the intruders ransacked the home, stealing a .40-caliber semi-automatic handgun.

As the suspects began to flee the residence, the teenager's mother and stepfather were pulling up to the home. They used their vehicle to block in the suspects' vehicle resulting in a crash that spun the suspects' vehicle into the yard.

The suspects fled on foot.

According to the report, the stepfather ran down the two female suspects. The three male suspects were captured by police on Goldsboro Country Club's golf course.

Maj. Al King of the Goldsboro Police Department said officers recovered the stolen weapon.

"A citation was issued to (McCutchen) for the accident. Interviews indicated she was the driver," he said.

King said additional arrests may be forthcoming.

All five defendants are currently in the Wayne County Jail under secured bonds ranging from $365,000 to $377,000, and will have first appearances in Wayne County Court today.
