Two women were shot late Friday afternoon during an attempted armed robbery in the parking lot of Brookside Market at 2005 S. Slocumb St.
The Goldsboro Police Department report provided scant information about the shooting, which happened just before 6 p.m.
According to the report, Daniel Donald Steven Turner, 21, Linda Louise Turner, 43, and Shelly Sue Ann-Mary Turner, 22, all of 403 S. Best St., were in their car in the store's parking lot when the shooting occurred.
Turner told police that a black male entered the vehicle and demanded "property." The report did not specify what sort of property had been demanded.
The suspect, described as a black man in his 20s, then shot the two women with a handgun. He left on foot without taking anything, police said.
The report did not say what type of handgun had been used or where the women were wounded.
The two women were taken by Wayne County Emergency Medical Services to the Wayne Memorial Hospital Emergency Room.
Hospital officials said Linda Louise Turner was not listed as a patient at the hospital.
Shelly Sue Ann-Mary Turner was transferred to Vidant Hospital in Greenville.
The official said she could not provide any information about either woman's condition.
