*Slow down.
*Don't tailgate. You likely will need more distance to come to a stop, so double or even triple the distance you normally follow another vehicle.
* Keep your distance from aggressive drivers. If they try to pass you when they shouldn't, give them as much room as possible.
*Clean off your windshields completely. Don't settle for a partial view. It's the quickest way to trouble.
*Brake gently to prevent skidding. If the wheels start to lock up, ease off the brakes.
*If you begin to slide, take your foot off the gas and turn the steering wheel in the direction of the slide. Do not apply the brakes as that will cause further loss of control of the vehicle.
