A Goldsboro man narrowly escaped life threatening injuries after being shot multiple times during a failed robbery in the 1700 block of East Holly Street Thursday -- and the Wayne County teenager police say is responsible for the attack is behind bars.
Reginald Devon Wynn, 19, of Dudley, faces a felony assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury charge and was also charged with attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon and injury to personal property.
He is currently in the Wayne County Jail under a $120,000 secured bond.
Maurice Andrew Williams, 32, of 614 Sherod Court, told officers he was approached by a black man in his 20s who demanded money at gunpoint, according to the Goldsboro police report. Williams attempted to flee and was shot several times -- investigators would not say exactly how many bullets were fired.
Williams was taken by Wayne County EMS to Wayne Memorial Hospital and was treated and released.
Wynn is scheduled to appear in court Monday.
