A Princeton man is in the Wayne County Jail today under a $100,000 bond on charges of trafficking in opiates by possession and transportation, and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to the Wayne County Sheriff's Office.

Joseph Clifton Johnson, 35, of Woodard Road, was pulled over on a routine traffic stop by the Aggressive Criminal Enforcement Team at Center Street and Royall Avenue Thursday.

Officers found Johnson in possession of what the report calls "a quantity of prescription medication," and arrested him.

A passenger in the vehicle, Krissy Capps, 22, of 3133 Massey Holt Road in Princeton was cited for possession or marijuana and released.

Maj. Tom Effler of the Wayne County Sheriff's Office said the trafficking charge against Johnson stems from the fact he had more than four grams of the prescription medication in his possession.

"Anything over four grams of opiates constitutes trafficking," Effler said.

"In that case, it is just like heroin."
