This surveillance photo shows the suspect in an attempted robbery at a Princeton fast food restaurant.
A black man dressed in all black wearing white gloves and with a gray shirt wrapped around his head and brandishing a weapon attempted to rob the Hardee's in Princeton Monday at 7:40 p.m., Princeton police said.
The suspect came into the store at 101 Smith St. and pointed a black pistol with a silver ejection port at one of the employees. A brief scuffle ensued and the suspect attempted to fire the pistol but nothing happened, according to a press release.
The suspect then pulled back on the pistol's slide in an attempt to reload it and he and the employee fought again. The rest of the employees ran out of the back of the store and the suspect fled through the lobby doors without taking any money. No injuries were reported.
The suspect is described as a black man in his 20s between 5 feet 10 inches and 6 feet 2 inches. He was last seen driving south on Pine Street in a late 1990s tan or silver and gold Honda Accord.
Anyone with information regarding the robbery should contact the Princeton PD at 919-936-8171.
