A Goldsboro man reportedly shot in front of Brookside Mini Mart at 2000 S. Slocumb St. was not there when police showed up.

This morning, he is in jail.

Goldsboro police found Aaron Moore, 18, of 1906 Day Circle, without bullet wounds, at the 500 building of Day Circle.

Moore denied knowledge of the incident at the mini mart and refused medical treatment.

Rather than taking a trip to Wayne Memorial Hospital, however, Moore landed in Wayne County Jail.

Surveillance video footage from Brookside Mini Mart showed Moore being assaulted by an unknown black man with a gun, according to a Goldsboro police report.

On the video, Moore is struck over the head with the hand gun and knocked out. The weapon discharges when it makes contact with Moore's head.

By the time police arrived on scene, both Moore and his attacker had left the scene.

Moore eventually admitted to being in the area of the altercation, but "was adamant about not being in any type of altercation," according to the report.

He was found to have outstanding warrants, however, and was promptly arrested.

Moore is charged with first-degree trespass, possession of an open container and possession of a malt beverage or wine under the age of 19 or 21. He was placed in the Wayne County Jail under a $1,300 secured bond.

Moore is due in Wayne County District Court Dec. 16 on the trespass charge, and on Jan. 14 for the alcoholic beverage charges.
