Two armed men kicked in the door to a northeast Wayne County home about 7 p.m. Sunday, duct taped a couple's hands and robbed them.
The victims told investigators the subjects were looking for money and drugs, according to a report filed with the Wayne County Sheriff's Office.
Dwayne Ray Speight, 36, was allegedly beaten by both men. His wife, Brandy Roshell Speight, 31, was taken into a back room and threatened at gunpoint until she gave the men $100.
Mrs. Speight was then ordered back into the living room where she was made to lie face down on the floor.
The men proceeded to beat Mr. Speight in the head with their weapons before ransacking the house and leaving through the rear door of the home with several items of stolen property. Among the items taken where an iPad, cell phone, Kindle Fire and car keys.
Mrs. Speight was unable to get the tag number or give a clear description of the suspect's vehicle. Mr. Speight was transported by Wayne EMS unit 71 to Wayne Memorial Hospital and treated for head injuries.
