For more than a century, Goldsboro and Wayne County residents have been helping needy children have a happy Christmas by donating to the Empty Stocking Fund, which has provided gifts and a party to hundreds of youngsters every year since 1912.
The need in Wayne County is great and we cannot meet it alone. We need your help.
This year, we have invited more than 600 children to the party, which will be held on Dec. 14 at Goldsboro High School.
As is our custom, The News-Argus will publish the names of donors and the names of anyone a donor wishes to make their gift in honor or memory of. People wishing to donate anonymously may also do so.
Donations should be mailed to the Empty Stocking Fund, c/o The News-Argus, P.O. Box 10629, Goldsboro, NC 27532, or they may be dropped off at the newspaper at 310 N. Berkeley Blvd.
