Wayne County Sheriff's Office Det. Sgt. Darren Graig, Det. Carl Lancaster and Det. Shawn Harris gather information on the scene of a double homicide early Tuesday evening at 638 Waller Road, about six miles southwest of Mount Olive.

MOUNT OLIVE -- The Wayne County Sheriff's Office is not yet releasing many details surrounding a double homicide discovered in the early evening hours Tuesday at 638 Waller Road near Mount Olive.

The investigation is in the preliminary stages, according to a press release issued by the sheriff's office Tuesday night, but investigators have identified the victims as 27-year-old Tyrone Beamon Jr. of Waller Road and 21-year-old Shondrea Juanette Millhouse of Knightdale.

Deputies were sent to the house after a third party called to request a welfare check at the residence at about 3:30 p.m.

Deputies arrived to find the victims already deceased, with two children ages 3 years old and 1 year old, unharmed.

The name of the person making the welfare request has not been released.

The SBI has been called in to assist with the investigation, and both Sheriff Carey Winders and head of investigations Maj. Tom Effler were on scene.

Autopsies on both bodies will be performed today at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Raleigh to determine the cause of death.

Investigators remained on scene overnight gathering evidence and following up leads.

"They'll be taking their time with this one," Effler said.
