Full SizeTilghman Davis grooved to the jazz music. He moved up and down, wiggled and giggled, and then promptly fell asleep in the arms of his aunt, Kelly Stalnaker.
"There was a big smile on his face. He loved it," she said.
During Jazz on George held Saturday in downtown Goldsboro, three jazz bands entertained hundreds sitting and bobbing their heads, including the 5-month-old Davis.
Organized through the Arts Council of Wayne County and the Downtown Goldsboro Development Corp., the ninth annual jazz concert marked the end of a month of jazz programming funded by a $10,000 state grant received by the Arts Council.
Jazz on George also featured the first performance of "Jazz It Up," an instrumental track by Raleigh jazz band Free Flow that gave musical shape to the character of Goldsboro and Wayne County.
