The Arts Council of Wayne County has received a $3,000 grant from Duke Energy Foundation. It will be used for the Arts Council's year-round exhibition program to provide educational materials, audio tours, artist gallery talks and free tours for individuals and groups.
There are year-round exhibits in two galleries, which feature local and North Carolina artists, said Sarah Merritt, Arts Council director. They are free to the public.
Mrs. Merritt said the Arts Council has worked to enhance viewer experience through a comprehensive education and enrichment program for both children and adults.
The main gallery and the TA Loving Gallery are open Monday through Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Thursday and Friday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 4 to 7 p.m. The staff is available to provide free exhibit tours and talks.
