The Wayne County Sheriff's Office has charged two men in connection with a burglary-kidnapping that took place near Pikeville after 1 a.m. Friday.

Eric Donavan Murchison, 20, Irish Inn Highway 70 E., room 220, and Justin Kendrick Green, 25, of Stantonsburg, were arrested and charged with first-degree burglary, first-degree kidnapping and assault with a deadly weapon.

Each was each being held in the Wayne County Jail under $250,000 secured bonds.

Murchison and Green allegedly forced their way into the home of Michael Eason at 107 Chinquapin Lane at 1:07 a.m, when he unlocked the door to see who was knocking, according to a police report.

Eason was hit with a stun gun and forced to lay down on the floor.

The men entered the home and found Melissa Hinant in the bedroom. She was held at gunpoint and told to "give up the money" or she would be killed.

Ms. Hinant said she had no money and was forced into the living room.

While the suspects were in the other rooms, Eason was able to dial 911 and call for help.
