With just a week to go before the filing period closes for this November's municipal elections, Mount Olive is the only town where all of the incumbents have filed.

And the filing Friday by District 1 Commissioner Kenny Talton created the second board race there.

Also filing Friday was District 3 Commissioner George Fulgham.

Talton will face former town commissioner Jessie Jack Faison who filed on Wednesday.

In the other town race, District 2 Commissioner Hosea Manley faces a challenge from Jerry Armstrong.

The five-member board and mayor serve two-year terms.

Filing Thursday or Friday for four-year sanitary district board seats were:

* Eastern Wayne: Carl Mozingo of LaGrange (incumbent), Jonathan Carl Mozingo of Goldsboro

* Fork Township: Tim Gardner of Goldsboro, Joseph Lee Hackett of Goldsboro

* Southeastern Wayne: Jim Barnwell of Dudley and James Taylor of Dudley (incumbent).

Filing is also open for the Belfast-Patetown and Southern Wayne sanitary districts.

The municipalities of Pikeville, Eureka, Seven Springs and Walnut Creek also have elections in November.

All of the municipal elections are non-partisan, as are the sanitary districts.

The filing period ends at noon on Friday.
