Local chapter attends cosmetology convention

The North Carolina Beautician and Cosmetology Association celebrated its 74th year at its convention in Fayetteville.
Chapter No. 30 of Goldsboro was awarded its second trophy in two years for having the most members in attendance.
Chapter President Cleo Rowe was awarded a plaque and merit award for service to the organization.
Rose Parks took second place in the better speaker competition. Ethelene Reid participated in the Miss Institute competition.
The convention focused on continuing education in the cosmetology field. Attending from Goldsboro were: Cleo Rowe, Barbara Lewis, Rena Swinson, Virginia Ruffin, Rose Parks, Eva Middleton, Ethelene Reid, Edna Vaughn, Dorothy Lewis, Nina Crawford, Bertha Coley and Billie J. Shaw.
