On Monday at approximately 2:20 p.m., a 76-year-old woman was shopping at the Wal-Mart at 1002 North Spence Avenue in Goldsboro when she was approached by two, unknown, black men.
They asked the woman for directions to the First African Baptist Church in Goldsboro then asked for a ride to the church and said they would compensate the female for the ride.
While in the woman's van, the suspects told her if she gave them $3,000 they would give her $75,000.
The woman then drove to her bank, the State Employees Credit Union at Berkeley and New Hope Road at about 2:20 p.m., went inside of the bank with one suspect, and retrieved $3,000.
The woman and the suspect got back into her van. Once in the van, the suspects took the $3,000 and fled on foot, southbound toward the Maplewood subdivision.
The suspects are described as a black man wearing a white dress shirt, tie and hat, and a black man wearing a white tee-shirt with a tan colored emblem on the front.
