On Sunday, at 4:30 a.m., at least three black men used a white, 1998 Ford Expedition to break through the front glass of the Swop Shop, at 510 S. George St.
The suspects exited the vehicle, briefly ran through the store, then fled the area on foot. The amount of damage to the building and the property was estimated at $40,000.
Later investigation showed the vehicle was recently stolen from Reliable Used Cars, which is at 905 N. William St. Also stolen from Reliable Used cars at the same time was a tan, 2002, four-door Buick Century.
