The Wayne County Sheriff's Office closed three investigations with one arrest Thursday. The suspect now faces a slew of charges and is being held in the Wayne County Jail under a $250,000 secured bond.
Christopher James Cobb, 23, of 107 Lakehurst Drive, was pulled over by the Goldsboro/Wayne County Interagency Drug Task Force Thursday for driving on a suspended license.
Cobb was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia and enough marijuana to constitute charges for possession with intent to sell and deliver a controlled substance.
Once in custody Cobb was identified as the key suspect in two other investigations, a shooting and a car jacking.
Cobb allegedly shot and wounded Yakima Dwayne Battle, 20, on Durham Lake Road May 4. Battle was struck in the buttock and left arm when shots rang out after a card game.
Cobb was charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury and discharging a barreled weapon into an occupied vehicle.
The third investigation in which Cobb was charged stemmed from a car jacking at the Mar Mac Express, 2371 U.S. 117, on May 13.
According to the report filed at the time of that incident, Michael Shawn Hunt and Devonne Ayannah Bridges were robbed of $2,420 and their 2004 Chevrolet Envoy at gun point.
Cobb was charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, larceny, and possession of stolen goods for his alleged role in that robbery.
The initial report listed two male subjects with guns as having committed the car jacking, but no further arrests have been made.
