The Wayne County Commissioners' Facilities Committee will meet Wednesday at 8 a.m. in Room 458 on the fourth floor of the Wayne County Courthouse annex. The committee is scheduled to continue its discussion on county-owned facilities.
A second committee meeting, which had been planned for today with Wayne Community College officials, has been canceled.
One area that committee members have expressed an interest in is to review all used county property for possible future use, reuse or disposition.
Once the review is completed, the committee will make a recommendation for the full board.
Commission Vice Chairman Ray Mayo chairs the committee. Also on the committee are Commissioners Wayne Aycock and commission Chairman Steve Keen.
The agenda for today's meeting was the college's $52 million long-range master plan and its capital projects priority list.
The cancellation was announced at 1:30 p.m. Monday. It did not say why the meeting was canceled. It did not say when or if the meeting would be rescheduled.
A similar meeting between the Facilities Committee and the Wayne County Public Schools Facilities Committee on the public schools capital needs has been discussed, but has not yet been scheduled.
