A woman trying to park her car in a handicapped parking space at Strickland Insurance Group on Commerce Court inadvertently drove her vehicle into the building this morning.
Goldsboro Building Inspector Kenny Talton was still assessing the damage at the scene at 10 a.m.
Police have not yet revealed the identity of the driver, who was not injured, or that of the female employee who was working just inside the wall at the time.
"We had one woman working at her desk who was taken to Wayne Memorial. The extent of her injuries are unknown at this time," Asst. Fire Chief Eric Lancaster said.
Goldsboro police said the driver would be cited for a safe movement violation.
A crowd of 30 to 40 workers were gathered outside the insurance company, waiting for the all clear signal to return to work. Employees from an adjacent building, also Strickland Insurance, came out to see what happened.
The driver, after colliding with the building's entryway, attempted to reverse and backed into a vehicle parked next to the handicapped spot, causing minimal damage.
