Cures for the Colors cancer fundraiser set for April 12-14

Southeastern Cancer Care "Cures for the Colors" third annual Walk/Run Marathon fundraiser will be held Friday through Sunday, April 12-14.
Southeastern Cancer Care's goal is to assist patients in eastern North Carolina with food, utilities, gas, clothing and other needs as they undergo chemotherapy treatment or are within one year of recovery.
The Friday night kickoff will begin at 7:30 on April 12, followed by the lantern release in honor or memory of those fighting cancer. Hot dogs, french fries and turkey legs will be sold during this event.
The walk/run portion of this event will begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday, April 13, and will consist of a combined certified 26.2 mile marathon, a 100-mile ultra-marathon, a 5.26 mile loop walk/run and a 1- mile fun walk /run.
On Saturday, children can enjoy an obstacle course and Dolphin Express slide. Barbecue sandwiches will be added to the menu.
Sunday walkers and runners will be finishing by 3 p.m.
