A quick-thinking citizen called 911 Tuesday when he saw a man breaking into a neighbor's home at 2708 Warrick Circle, leading to an arrest later that night.
Officers from the Goldsboro Police Department's A-shift found the door forced open when they arrived at the residence, but no suspect inside. The 911 caller was able to provide a description of the alleged intruder and the vehicle he might have been driving.
Based on the description given, members of the Selective Enforcement Unit conducted a traffic stop of a matching vehicle on North Berkeley Boulevard near Fallin Boulevard.
The driver, Cornelius Earl Jones, 25, of 2201 Royal Ave., was later identified as the man seen breaking into the residence. He was charged with felony breaking and entering and attempted larceny and held in the Wayne County Jail under a $10,000 secured bond.
