A third suspect has been charged in the home invasion and rape that took place at a residence on Genoa Road in Dudley earlier this month.
The Wayne County Sheriff's Office announced Monday that Montrel Keith Crawford, 16, of 1213 Franklin St., was arrested Friday and is being held in the Wayne County Jail under an $800,000 secured bond.
Crawford, along with Tavares Monderio Allen, 21, and Jay Mark Jackson Jr., 20, are charged with first-degree burglary, first and second-degree kidnapping, first-degree rape and larceny of a firearm.
The trio are alleged to have been among four to five armed assailants who, at 11 p.m. on March 8, forced their way into the Dudley home at gun point and separated the occupants.
A female and small child, guests in the home, were forced into the living room while the resident, a 21-year-old female, was taken to a back bedroom by at least one of the men and raped. Several items were stolen from the residence, including a firearm.
Allen and Jackson were arrested just hours apart on March 14 and 15. Both men were jailed under $1.2 million secured bonds.
The investigation has since continued, and deputies say that more arrests and additional charges are still possibly pending.
