Walstonburg to host annual 'Proud to be an American Day' on April 20

WALSTONBURG -- The Greene County town of Walstonburg will hold its fifth annual "Proud to be American Day" celebration on Saturday, April 20.

The event will take place at the American Legion Building at 102 S. Main St. in Walstonburg.

The event is designed to honor veterans, current military personnel and fallen heroes. All branches of service are invited to come and be recognized.

Activities and events begin at 10 a.m. and run until 5 p.m.

People are encouraged to come dressed as an "Andy Griffith Show" character and win a prize. The "Mayberry Deputy" will entertain throughout the day.
