Owner hopes photos, memories of dog will be found

Kimberly Bishop knows there will never be a way to bring back her dog, King Kong.
The huge Labrador/Great Dane mix died several weeks ago.
But she is hoping that she can salvage some of the fond memories of her beloved pet.
It's a long shot. But she hopes someone who has found her missing telephone has saved the card that has more than a thousand photos of her and King Kong on it.
She lost it March 16, about 2:30 p.m., near Doug Henry Buick-GMC, where she works.
A frantic search for the phone led down the street to the intersection of Norwood Avenue and William Street, where a camera at a gas station caught a glimpse of a driver stopping to pick up something from beside the road. Later, the battery from her camera was found, dented, as if someone had pried it open.
Kimberly hopes whoever might have her Samsung Mexmerize phone still has the 16 giga-byte card that contains the precious photos.
"They're all I have left of him," she said.
Ms. Bishop knows that some people might question why she is so desperate to find the photos. But they don't know the back story. How she came to adopt King Kong. How he was pulled from a dog shelter by a movie producer, who later dumped the dog on a friend who lived near her in California. How she came to love the big-hearted dog, who died only a week before she lost her phone.
So now she waits, and prays, and hopes that someone who has the card will come forward, maybe just drop it off at Doug Henry. Or call her at 919-344-7671.
"I can't ever get him back, but I can get my memories back," she said.
