Wayne Community College Continuing Education Services will perform Nurse Aide II competency testing.

The college has been approved by the N.C. Board of Nursing to do the testing.

"We are receiving a high demand for this service, therefore new classes (testing sessions) have been added to the spring schedule," said Continuing Education Allied Health Coordinator Joyce Hamilton-Fleming.

The course is designed for the person whose Nurse Aide II listing expired within the past 24 months but is still active on the Nurse Aide I registry. To be eligible for renewal, the student must successfully complete just the competency evaluation portion of the Nurse Aide II program, which is what the college is offering.

If the Nurse Aide II listing has been expired more than 24 months, they must retake an entire Nurse Aide II program for renewal.

Four sessions will be held 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. on Friday, March 22 (CID 50065); Saturday, April 13 (CID 50314); Friday, April 26 (CID 50066); and Friday, May 10 (CID 50315).

Class location will be Room 205 of the Magnolia Building on the college's main campus.

The registration fee is $65.

Students are encouraged to register as soon as possible to guarantee a seat. While they may register as late as the day of a class, there is no walk-in option. Students may register and pay fees at the Continuing Education Division's customer service desk in the Walnut Building or by going to "Register Now" at www.waynecc.edu/continuing-ed/.
