On Saturday, the Goldsboro Optimist Club will collect used computers from the public in the parking lot at Sam's Club from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

The following items are needed for its Optimist Computers4Kids program: computers with Windows XP or later operating system, LCD monitors, keyboards, mice, and speakers.

The Goldsboro Optimist Club is a Microsoft Registered Refurbisher.

For a small processing fee, the club provides refurbished computers to low income families with children in middle and high schools of the Wayne County Public Schools.

Their refurbishing process includes the destruction and removal of all personal data from the hard disk drives.
