A Goldsboro man who allegedly forced his way into a Mount Olive home and held a gun to the head of an 8-year-old girl was arrested Friday morning at the Econo Lodge in Goldsboro.

Shawnquel Futrelle, 25, who was considered armed and dangerous, was taken into custody without incident by Wayne County Sheriff's deputies.

Futrelle, who was in the company of an unidentified woman, was served with felony warrants from the Mount Olive Police Department for first-degree burglary, robbery with a dangerous weapon, and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill.

He was also served with warrants from the Goldsboro Police Department for assault on a female and assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury.

He was placed in the Wayne County Jail under a $500,000 secured bond.

Mount Olive Chief of Police Brian Rhodes expressed his appreciation to deputies, and to the citizens who forwarded information to the various law enforcement agencies that worked together to make the arrest.

Futrelle was the suspect in one of the two, possibly related, early morning break-ins in Mount Olive on Monday.

Futrelle allegedly forced his way into a residence at 416 E. Franklin St. around 3:20 a.m. where he pressed a weapon to head of the victim's 8-year-old child and demanded money. He then fired a semi-automatic pistol into the bedroom wall.

The victim surrendered her purse which, according to the press release issued by police, was "full of cash and gift cards."

At nearly the same time, a second break-in was occurring at 1018 S. Johnson St. where a second suspect burst in and demanded money and drugs at gunpoint. He, too, fired a single shot into a wall and fled with stolen items in hand.

Anyone with information about either crime is asked to contact the Mount Olive Police Department at 919-658-5031, or Crime Stoppers at 919-735-2255. Tips can also be texted to 919-222-4230.

All information pro-vided to Crime Stoppers remains anonymous and information leading to a felony arrest is eligible for a reward up to $1,000.
