Local Sylvan Center wins award

Susie Ford, owner of the Sylvan Learning Center in Goldsboro, recently received the academic excellence award, presented to one franchisee who represents educational excellence in the system.
Ms. Ford has been with Sylvan since 2001, purchasing her first location in 2004 and going on to open two additional sites, in Wilson and Lillington.
Officials with the organization credited Ms. Ford with successfully working with students through a strong curriculum and diagnostic tools used to determine what causes the student to struggle and developing a program to focus on weak areas. Her learning centers have incorporated the iPad-based learning tool, SylvanSync.
