The children who live on Seymour Johnson Air Force Base are used to seeing flying objects -- and the men and women who guide them wearing green flight suits.
But Monday, the F-15E Strike Eagles they are accustomed to will give way to a reindeer-powered sleigh -- the green flight suits to an iconic, red one.
That's right.
Santa is making a pre-Christmas stop at the Goldsboro installation.
Airmen, military retirees and their families are expected to converge on the corner of Wright Brothers Avenue and Edwards Street Dec. 3 for the 4th Fighter Wing's annual Christmas Tree Lighting.
And the event, which will feature entertainment ranging from carriage rides to pictures with Santa, is expected to draw a crowd.
The celebration is scheduled to run from 5 to 8:30 p.m.
