Rose Hill preparing jubilee to celebrate poultry on Saturday

ROSE HILL -- The public is invited to a day and evening of fun at the Rose Hill Poultry Jubileee planned for Saturday on Main Street in Rose Hill.
The event will include a parade, entertainment, carnival rides, a car show, food, a cake/art auction, wing-eating contest, vendors, beer and wine garden, street dance and acrobat performance.
The event, sponsored by House of Raeford Farms, Duplin Winery, Hog Slat Co., and many others, starts at 11 a.m. and runs until 10 p.m.
Attendees are urged to take a chair or blanket. No coolers are allowed.
Here is a schedule of events:
11 a.m. -- parade
Noon-12:30 - welcome and National Anthem
12:45-1:45 p.m. -- Blair Mozingo, singing (meet and greet from noon until12:45)
1:50-2:15 p.m. -- Poultry Jubilee Pageant Queens perform
2:20-3:15 p.m. -- Cripple Creek Dancers
3:20-3:45 p.m. -- Cake/Art auction
3:45-4 p.m. -- Gladys Graham, singing
4:00-4:55 p.m. -- Dancer's Corner
5 -5:30 p.m. -- Wing Eating Contest
5:35 -6: p.m -- New Christian Chapel, singing
Spare Change Band -- 2-5 p.m.
Crowing Contest -- during intermission (to be announced)
The Executives band -- 6-7 p.m.
The Chairmen of the Board band -- 7:30-9 p.m.
Also, fried chicken from the Worlds Largest Frying Pan ($6 per plate), motorcycle rally, NASCAR simulator and silent auction on baskets donated by local businesses.
