Assault with a deadly weapon
According to a Goldsboro Police report, Robert Deon'te Carmichael, 21, 315 E. Walnut St., was shot in the back Saturday while walking down the street. Shortly after 2 p.m., Carmichael was walking east along West Spruce Street. He heard a "loud boom" and felt pain in his back. He was able to run to a friend's house and call for help, but he did not say who shot him or why.
Breaking and entering a motor vehicle
A .22-caliber rifle and a digital camera were among the items taken Friday, when unknown subjects entered the unlocked vehicle of Edward Hughes Cianfarra, 63, 226 Pinewood Drive. Cianfarra's Jeep Liberty was parked outside his home when the incident occurred, and he did not discover the theft until 7:30 a.m. The value of the stolen items and assorted loose change taken was listed on the police report at $910.
First-degree burglary
It was after 2 a.m. Friday when Autumn Brook Goff, 18, was awakened by a noise outside her window. She saw a black man in a dark T-shirt outside her home at 310 Randall Lane. About the same time, she saw another black man run from around the corner. According to a report filed by Goldsboro police, the screen around the back window of the home had been cut, but no entry was made.
