Home invasion in Dudley
Armed suspects kicked in the door of a Dudley home Wednesday, put the occupants' faces down on the floor and robbed the home for a whopping $160. Victims Richard Tyquan Moore, 22, and Domonique Mysheria Williams, 21 were unharmed. Moore was able to call 911 and deputies responded, but before they arrived Moore heard the intruders shoot his dog.
Seven Springs assault
A party in Seven Springs was broken up just after 3 a.m. Thursday when 10 to 15 Hispanic men turned the fiesta into an affray. The men attacked Claudio Lopez, of the 100 block of Al Drive in Seven Springs, and other party-goers for unknown reasons. The men, armed with at least one baseball bat and one knife, then fled in what the report indicated was either a red Jeep or a gray Nissan.
Church copper theft
Mount Zion Church Ministries, 323 Whitfield Drive, is the latest Goldsboro church to report a copper theft. Thieves struck sometime between July 15 and 22, damaging an air-conditioning unit from which copper was removed. Another $30 worth of copper piping was stolen for a total value of $30,030 in stolen or damaged goods.
Break-in and theft
The brazen suspects struck mid-day between 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. They drove a vehicle of unknown type into the backyard of 49-year-old Haywood Williams' home on the 800 block of Rudolph Street and broke in through a window.
The crooks managed to remove a 52-inch and a 19-inch flat screen television, a desktop computer, one DVR console and assorted cash and coins. They then escaped unseen with their $3,460 haul.
