Stolen 4-wheeler

A 2004 Honda Foreman 4-wheeler was stolen Tuesday from a residential carport. Vernon Todd Bass, 41, 400 block Davis Mill Road, reported the theft to deputies saying he last saw the vehicle secure on Monday. The reported value of the 4-wheeler is $3,000.

Break-in artist leaves evidence

An unknown suspect entered through a side window, pried open by hammer. When Pearline Nicole Ammons, 30, of Mount Olive returned home after midnight she found her home broken into. The suspect stole a laptop and a jewelry box containing more than $2,000 in gold accessories.

What the suspect left though may lead investigators to him more quickly than tracking the stolen items. The hammer used to pry the window was left on a kitchen table and a knife was left on the bed near where the jewelry box had been.

Motorcycle stolen from barn

Someone cut the padlock on 32-year-old Timothy Roger Smith's barn behind his home at 100 block Tindale Place, he told police Tuesday. Once inside the unknown suspects managed to remove Smith's $35,000 Kawasaki 1500-R cruiser.

The purple motorcycle and two helmets were too large to be carried away. Neighbors saw a white Chevy Silverado in the area the day and heard the motorcycle engine being started and stalling out between 3 and 4 a.m.

Robbery with a dangerous weapon

A man was beaten, kicked and robbed in broad daylight Wednesday in the 900 block of John Street. The victim, David Marcellus Wiliams, 53, 700 block Stronach Avenue, was allegedly struck in the head with a pipe, and beaten during a robbery. He said he knew one of the men who attacked him and took $209 from his pocket.
