Armed robbery
A Princeton man was pulled from his vehicle and assaulted Sunday. Joshua David Strout, 75, of Princeton, told Goldsboro police that he was pulled by two black males from his 1997 Ford Explorer at a stoplight on William Street near U.S. 70. He was struck in the head and knocked unconscious.
The men robbed Strout of more than $2,000 in cash, his bracelet and watch and his wallet containing identification documents. A passerby found Strout and helped him to the side of the road, where he passed out again. Strout then woke up and drove himself to Wayne Memorial Hospital where again he blacked out and was found by hospital staff.
