Stolen vehicles
* Goldsboro police are investigating the theft of blue 1996 Subaru Brighton, taken Tuesday from the parking lot between the library an Herman park.
* A black 2003 Cadillac CTS was stolen from a Virginia Street residence in the early morning hours Wednesday. Goldsboro police were advised there was a handicap placard in the window of the vehicle and a cigarette burn in the back seat.
* According to a Goldsboro police report, two men shot at and stole a North Berkeley Boulevard resident's rental vehicle before 8 p.m. Wednesday. The victim told investigators that as he exited his vehicle the men bolted from behind his house and fired at him. The Enterprise Rent-A-Car vehicle is a white Chrysler 200 of an unknown year.
Larceny at local businesses
Two incidents of breaking and entering and larceny of coin operated machines occurred this week.
On Tuesday, Goldsboro police investigated a break-in at Howell Support Services, 907 Landmark Drive, during which two safes were damaged and a vending machine was relieved of an estimated $3,000.
Then on Wednesday, suspects entered Mitchell Hairstyle Academy, 1021 N. Spence Ave., through the roof. Property damage, stolen electronics and $600 taken from a Pepsi machine were documented by police.
Dog bite
Tyrone Russell Cooper, 900 block Seaboard Street, was bitten by a dog Tuesday evening. Goldsboro police responded but were unsuccessful in capturing the dog and did not specify the animal's breed. Cooper drove himself to the Wayne Memorial Hospital Emergency Department.
Simple assault
Cousins Brianna Cook and Erica Suncin told police Wednesday that they were assaulted in Cook's home by several black females. The group of females knocked on the door of the apartment, entered and began arguing. The verbal confrontation became physical and police were contacted.
Break-in
A Pikeville home was burglarized late Tuesday or early Wednesday. Joseph Lewis Trapp was in the process of moving and left items secured in his home, but according to the Wayne County Sheriff's Office report, the front door was apparently still easy to open. A gas heater, tank and tools were stolen amounting to more than $650 in losses for Trapp.
