Man, 81, shot in his home

An elderly man was found shot to death early today on Slick Rock Road, according to the Wayne County Sheriff's Office.
Investigators released few details of the shooting, but neighbors and family members said Ralph Exum Jones, 81, was found shot to death in the kitchen of his home.
Neighbors said patrol cars, including those of the Sheriff's Office and the SBI, were at the home this morning and that officers and agents were investigating the scene.
Sheriff's detectives confirmed the name of the victim. Sheriff Carey Winders said his officers were investigating the shooting and that the man's body was discovered after he did not answer telephone calls and neighbors grew concerned.
Winders said the initial call regarding the shooting came about midnight Wednesday.
