Thursday was the deadline for applications from groups seeking a share of the $2 million available to Wayne County through the Golden LEAF Foundation's Community Assistance Initiative.
On Tuesday, Foundation President Dan Gerlach will be in Goldsboro to review the Golden LEAF staff feedback on the proposals. Golden LEAF officials will provide an opportunity for written responses to the feedback.
Tuesday's meeting will be held from 5:30-7:30 p.m. in room 106 in the Spruce building at Wayne Community College.
Also, a group of local civic, education and government leaders that has been meeting monthly for the last six months will select a review team charged with reading all of the proposals and prioritizing projects for submission.
The $18 million worth of projects included a water park/teen center, $1 million; centralized high school technical education school, $2 million; 3-Key Program (literacy, work ethics, technical), $2 million; downtown business incubator, cost unknown; Old Waynesborough Park, $1 million; and science, technology, engineering, math (STEM) schools at $150,000 per site.
